After the successful conduct of the massive Legacy Data Publication campaign, the updating of NRC process gradually moves on to the most awaited and crucial phase – Distribution and Receipt of Application Form. The response from our esteemed public has been awe- inspiring. To ensure that YOU avail the Legacy Data Search facility at the NRC Seva Kendras and online through our website www.nrcassam.nic.in and start collecting all the requisite documents to easily fill-up the Application Form, a Special Mobilisation Drive to issue Legacy Data Code prior to the full fledged commencement of Application Receipt was launched in every district. Over 48 lakh Leaflets has been printed so far for mass awareness, 1 crore 12 lakh Instruction Sheets on How to Fill Up the Application Form is sent to each district along with the Application Form, more than 8,407 Public Awareness Meetings conducted, 859 Advertisements in Newspapers (Regional & English) was published, 16,828 spots on Electronic Media aired (Feb/June) and 2,000 CD on Video Tutorials sent to each district for effective awareness amongst the public. So as to reach people from every walk of life and to make the experience enriching and informative, cine goers across 33 movie halls in Assam is catching up on the latest Television Commercials during intervals on the importance of Legacy Data Code, admissible and linkage related documents. To add on, so far 1,42,93,847 Legacy Data Code has been successfully issued to the applicants.
To connect with people of Assamese Origin, living outside Assam and abroad and to encourage active participation, an online campaign through social media platform is going on in full swing. From e-mailers, FB post boost to launching an online campaign that involves publishing pictures of all the online applicants, YouTube skip ads, Twitter Promotion, every possible measure are taken to reach out to members of the Assamese community living within Assam, in various parts of the country and abroad. District wise break up of Application Receipt performance both online and offline is regularly shared on FB and Twitter to keep the public posted.
So far until 21/08/15, over 3,08,485 users have registered online and 2,29,736 have submitted their form online since the launch of this facility on June 23rd, 2015. Over 80 % household across Assam have submitted their Application Forms as on 21st August, 2015.
NSK Teams across Assam is leaving no stones unturned to complete receipt of Application Form within the stipulated time. Nalbari, Barpeta and Kamrup have joined the 100 % club and we are counting.
The following NSKs received and processed the highest number of Applications until 18th August, 2015.
In those districts where the number of Application Receipt is slow, special measures are taken by the District Administration to gear up the process by allocating additional manpower and hardwares wherever required. Deputy Commissioners of respective districts are personally visiting the NSK offices as and when required.
In order to boost the Application Receipt process, a new offline module called e-Form is launched, wherein the applicant can download the e-Form and fill it up at their own convenience either by availing the services of the Government authorized Common Service Centers (CSC) also known as the Arunoday Kendra or may fill it up at home and later submit it online. So far since the launch of the facility on 6th August, 2015, 3624 Applications have been received. To know more please visit http://www.nrceform.in/ . This apart, so as to help and guide the public in matters related to their enlistment in the updated NRC, a SPMU (State Project Management Unit) helpdesk is also set up at the Office of the State Coordinator, Bhangagarh office in the month of June and so far over 3000 concerns have been successfully addressed.
